Old folks appeased its constant mystery with folkloreson giants cooking food on the oversized stone stove or cooking tripod.

Folks coined the slang, Sug-ang, to refer to the place after the term, sug-angan, the vernacularfor traditional stove as the rock formation takes the shape of a giant traditional cooking tripod.
Bringing irony to the real-life furnace heat of a sug-angan, the placid seawater cradles theamazing rock formation that folks dubbed as the three stones, an even understatement of its size.
Mesmerized by the scenery, especially with less exploitation in the old days, picnic buddies fromthe rural towns used to frequent the place as their favorite stop-over.
But that was the good old days. New inhabitants in the area collected pebbles from the floor ofthe rock formation which they used as filling materials to reclaim an area in the seawaters where they built their houses on. This led to the decrease in height of the base rock supporting the three large rocks that form the traditional stove-like structure, the only of its kind in Bohol and even in Central Visayas.
In fact, “three stonian” families living nearby held beauty pageants in the past to raise funds forthe preservation of its natural form by sprucing up its floor with pebbles to sustain its height which was actually just a way of replacing what the others took from it.
As if fleeing with the shape of the clouds above, its sentimental flare in the hearts of the picnicbuddies faded with time when old folks weregone.
A man-made giant pan may complete the Sug-ang concept to tempt tourists for a cruise, analternative to the river cruise in Loboc and Loay, with the beguiling seaside panorama that needs to be developed to complement it.
The mountain range of Dauis at the eastern side, the causeway stretching to Panglao Islandfrom Tagbilaran City at the western side and the thin land mass at the eastern side also reaching out to Dauis from another point trace the circle around the seawater cradling the amazing rock formation.

It can be a conducive venue for water sportsfest as the land mass around maintains the calmness of the waves in the area.
