P53-M Pitogo feeder port launched
By JUNE S. BLANCO
BOHOL Gov. Erico Aumentado led officials and guests in inaugurating recently the newly-finished P53-million Pitogo Feeder Port in the island municipality of President Carlos P. Garcia off Ubay town 125 kilometers northeast of Tagbilaran City.
Started when he was still a congressman, Aumentado who is into the second year of his third term as governor, admitted that the project incurred delays because the contractor had to find the correct type of boulders to build the all-weather port with.
The project affords the islanders with a sturdy and decent docking port that allows two trips to Ubay in the mainland and another two trips going back at only P50 one way from each passenger.
Mayor Tesalonica Boyboy thanked Aumentado for the project – started during the incumbency of her predecessors including her father, former Mayor Fernando Boyboy.
For his part, Aumentado told the islanders during the inaugural program held at the town gymnasium that the provincial government is ready to soil stabilize several roads in the island including the Aguining-Pitogo Road; Popoo-Tugas road and the Pitogo-Aguining road.
