A couple suspected of peddling illegal drugs evaded arrest when the house they were living in was raided by police authorities.
The raid was conducted by elements of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) along Pamaong extension, Tagbilaran City.
The suspects were identified as Junifer Vano alias Mayort and his wife Arlene, both of legal age.
According to police accounts, the couple was able to slip through the cordon when the raid was conducted.
The CIDG carried out the raid by virtue of a search warrant issued by Judge Fernando Fuentes III.
It was witnessed by officials of Barangay Cogon and representatives of the Department of Justice and the media.
Chief Insp. Germano Mallari, CIDG Bohol chief, revealed that when the raiding team entered the house, only the couple’s two children and helper were present but the couple who were the object of the raid had disappeared.
The raiding team recovered four decks of suspected shabu which will be subjected to examination by the crime laboratory in Camp Dagohoy to determine if it is indeed the prohibited substance.
Mallari revealed that they have placed the couple under surveillance in the last two months for their involvement in the illegal drug trade.
He likewise disclosed that there are other personalities who are being monitored for the same reason.
