| By ANGELINE VALENCIA The Bohol Investment Promotion Center or BIPC, as the lead agency, starts the countdown to the launching of the Bohol Business One-Stop Shop (Bohol BOSS) on December 10. Last Friday’s whole-day planning workshop at the Pandan Tea Garden finalized the staffing and mechanism, and the coordination strategies among the technical working group. BIPC Head Maria Fe Dominise announced that the Provincial Legal Office has already finalized Governor Erico Aumentado‘s executive order and the memorandum of agreement of the provincial government, the four pilot municipalities and the mandated government agencies. The municipalities of Panglao, Dauis, Talibon and Ubay will serve as the pilot LGUs of Bohol Boss to work with DTI, Pag-Ibig or HDMF, SSS, BIR, DENR, DAR and the city government of Tagbilaran in offering fast processing of business permits of first-time investors. The Bohol BOSS technical working group will start setting up the manpower requirement on November 25 and by November 27, it would be finalized including the office set up to be integrated with BIPC in the lounge at the first floor of the People’s Mansion. For the trial run on December 1 to 4, BCCI president Marietta Gasatan would bring at least five to seven investors who could be interested on operating a ranch in Ubay, or beach resorts in Panglao as examples, based on the recommendation of the workshop facilitator Linda Paredes- -Bohol’s favorite resource person as an established institution building and organization development specialist. Bohol BOSS intends to make the processing of business permits easy for first-time investors to create a conducive business climate in Bohol. | | |
