Two separate road accidents claimed the lives of as many people in Maribojoc town last week.
The fatality in the first mishap was identified as one Ronil Mambahin, 21, a resident of Barangay Tiptip, Tagbilaran City.
Investigations conducted by the Maribojoc PNP revealed that the victim was driving a motorcycle with a single passenger identified as one Jomarie Batomalage, 39, about 9 pm last May 4.
The motorcycle driven by the victim collided with a multicab that was going the opposite direction in Barangay San Roque, Maribojoc.
Mambahin was rushed to the Gov. Celestino Gallares Memorial Hospital in Tagbilaran but he expired a few minutes later.
His passenger however was more fortunate.
The native of Barangay Boctol, Jagna only suffered a fracture on his leg.
During follow-up investigation, it was gathered that the multicab was driven by one Jeremie Tongco of Antequera town.
Meanwhile, a truck boy was killed when the dump truck he was riding figured in a smash-up about 4 pm last May 7.
The victim was identified as one Edsel Artiaga, 31, single and a native of Sierra-Bullones town.
According to accounts of the accident, the dump truck loaded with sand was driven by one Julio Dante, a native of Pilar town.
The dump truck smashed into a Super 5 passenger bus driven by one Floro Echavia, a resident of Barangay San Vicente, Maribojoc.
Aside from the passenger, the dump truck also slammed into a stationary multicab driven by Jonas Culgue of Barangay Bool, Tagbilaran City.
After smashing into the two vehicles, the dump truck tripped to its side, which pinned Artiaga and left him mortally wounded.
The victims were rushed to the CGMH but the truck boy eventually expired. Dante, who was also injured in the accident, was confined at the hospital for treatment.
A child who was riding on the multicab was also hurt and was brought to a private hospital in Tagbilaran for treatment.
